Electric Sunroof re-release 'No More War'

Originally written and recorded in mid 2000's, as a response to the ongoing conflicts and western interventions in the middle east, the message of the song is sadly as relevant now as it was then, 15 to 20 years on.

Recorded during a live session @Hendre Hall, nr Bangor, North Wales, in 2006, and performed with Electric Sunroof's original line-up, Thomas Bell-Hughes (Drums), Chris Ryan (Lead Guitar, Backing Vox), Henry Griffiths (Bass), and Roger Hughes (songwriter, electric guitar and vocals).

The track trundles along, interlaced with samples from various leaders and savants from more recent decades, and earlier. The track meanders along an energetic journey or riffs and dynamic drums, carrying it's energy well as it builds to an intense crescendo, crammed with an almost palpable frustration and anger at the futility of such misguided ventures.

For a live recorded track, it carries very well indeed, particularly for it's length. Just shy of 7 minutes, the track maintains the attention of the listener with active progressive dynamicism, intent samples, and some great guitar parts, well layered live as the two electric guitars battle it out heroically to the monstrously cacophonous finale!

'In times when times get little better, no sooner are we dragged from one global state of panic and fear, than we are led unwittingly, and mostly unwillingly, into the next.' Roger muses when asked about why they've decided to re-release the track.

'Aside from the severe trauma experienced almost globally from the cov drama, the lockdowns should have given us pause to be able to review the nature of not only our interpersonal, but our global relations. Seemingly all they did was buy time and empower those who steer and play global games with nations, nation building, and benefit from resource and financial manipulation. And those furthest from those power wielding abilities are the ones who are most seriously affected. They are but pawns in the machinations of those who's lies to care are but a pretence, when all they really consider are their own interests, and power.'

Strong words, and a strong song. Give it a listen.
