Third Lung – “Sister Sinner” Single Review

Reading based four piece Third Lung sound like a combination of Foo Fighters, Queens Of The Stone Age and Stereophonics. Their ability to blend garage sounds with pop rock energy and stadium worthy vocal hooks has garnered them support from BBC Radio 6 Music, so it’s probably worth a listen. Here’s our review of their newest single “Sister Sinner”!

This single blends that British gritty garage twang with flowing vocal melodies and an almost Smashing Pumpkins style of songwriting, “Sister Sinner” showcases some of the band’s best vocal work so far, taking the raspy, eerie tone of Josh Homme and applying it to power-pop melodies and delicate harmonies. The main draw of this single for me is the gritty crispness of the guitars. They give the whole song an attitude and an energy that I love. Sitting at just under four minutes, “Sister Sinner” is just long enough to be epic but not long enough to be dreary.

“Sister Sinner is our Anthemic reminder to embrace life. It’s passionate, punchy, emotive and Rocks. It Sums us up pretty well right now.” Says the band about the single.

All in all, this track shows a strong promise for Third Lung, showing off a great talent for anthemic songwriting and signalling very nice feelings about the idea of their new EP dropping in March 2019.
