So, not too long ago (3 weeks ish) I had the pleasure of being invited to play a little festival called Goose Green Festival up in Altrincham, Manchester.
The stage was run by some lovely people from Trafford Sound Radio and was professionally managed and run by their team over the weekend with quality live music from local and non local artists and bands that had also been sourced by them.
It initially came about by connecting on social media (twitter in this instance). I instantly noticed they were also great supporters of indipendant and unsigned artists which is something I always look for on social media and online. In the past I have spent far too much time and money sending off promo cds that most probably just get used as costers or left on a dusty shelf somewhere, in a box or whatever. This then led to me submitting music to the show and them playing some of my tracks.
I was then invited to do a live session which was great because I was just about to release my new Tribal ep, and having no pr team, management in place (as it all costs a lot money) was great and very much appreciated.
So I went down to Trafford Sound in Manchester, in my van and played some live acoustic tracks, drank some tea, had a natter and was ask if I was interested in playing their festival, with which I replied "Deffinitly", and the rest is history.
Held in an area circling Goose Green itself, there is plenty of festival food, friendly people and a great atmosphere and to top it off, it's free entry with a great crowd.
The communication and support from them was also great and they really looked after me. Amazingly, they post code they sent me with the directions sent me directly to the back of their stage and right into the bar next door which was being used as a green room for artist. Big thumbs up :-)
