Velvet is a four piece indie alternative pop/rock band from Bangor formed when Chewie and Aimee met at a gig in late 2014 and found they had almost identical taste in music and an urge to create unique music.
Built around Aimee’s vocals and songwriting, Velvet is a rocky, retro-pop band drawing on influences from Bowie, Catatonia, Supertramp & Radiohead.
Throughout 2016 & 2017 Velvet played a series of gigs across North Wales including; Festival No.6, Gorjys Secrets festival, headlining Oxjam Bangor, Curiad Bangor Pulse Festival and support to Adam Walton's band, The Immediate.
They are releasing their first EP ‘Fire’ recorded by John Lawrence and released via CEG records on the 26th of November 2017 and their single ‘Fire’ has already received airplay on BBC Radio Wales and Tudno FM.
